The TechArts Team is dedicated to supporting the spread of the gospel to Wendell community and around the world by supporting the weekly worship experience and events with quality audio and visual presentations. TechArts truly is a ministry that allows you to be behind the scenes and yet make a huge impact for the gospel!
Whether you have years of experience or have never touched technology before, you can serve. Most positions require training on Sunday evenings during rehearsals and shadowing on Sunday mornings. Seasoned volunteers are encouraged to learn more than one position.
The stage manager coordinates with FOH, the associate producer, producer, worship leader and others on stage in making sure everything on stage runs smoothly. This position can also operate as the associate producer. Sunday evening rehearsals with the worship teams are required for the Sundays they are serving.
Front of House/Audio Engineer
The audio engineer mixes the sound for all elements on stage including but not limited to the choir, orchestra, band, vocals, and speakers. This position can also operate as the associate producer. Sunday evening rehearsals are required for the Sundays they are serving.
The graphics operator plays an integral part of leading worship, as they initiate the videos, slides, and lyrics that appear on the screens. Cues are taken from the service producer. Sunday evening rehearsals are required for the Sundays they are serving.
Video Director – Coming Soon!
The video director designs the overall visual experience for the congregation and web viewers by working with the service producer, camera operators, the graphics operator, and shader.
Camera Operator – Coming Soon!
With guidance from the video director, the camera operator helps design the feel of the service by capturing what is happening on the platform.
The lighting operator manages light cues to assist in focusing attention on certain elements during the service. All lighting cues are preprogrammed.
The stagehand assists the stage manager in moving stands, delivering microphones, and moving props on and off stage during productions. This position mainly serves during rehearsals and large productions.
Weekday Media Volunteer
The weekday media volunteer helps in assisting in a variety projects throughout the week including but not limited to video shoots/editing, stage setups/teardowns, lighting adjustments, and media duplication.
