Adult Ministry

We believe that Discipleship best takes place in the context of a small group. It is through our small groups, such as connect groups and discipleship classes, that each of us will be able to grow in our faith and have a healthy connection to Christ and the Church.

Connect Groups meet on Sunday mornings and the opportunity to connect with a group of people in a similar walk of life. Not only will Connect Groups allow time to fellowship, but also to participate with others in worship, prayer, study, church service, and community outreach.

In addition to our weekly Connect Groups, we offer a variety of short-term Bible studies. These range from topical discussions to studies straight from books of the Bible, from parenting and finance to apologetics and how to share your faith. These Discipleship Classes are held at various times throughout the week to fit into your schedule and are designed to help you grow in your faith.

This verse-by-verse study of the entire Bible is currently in the book of 1st Samuel. Join us for an in-depth look into God’s Word.

Every Wednesday at 6:30 pm.
Class is led by Pastor Aaron Wallace in the Fellowship Hall.

Has it ever dawned on you that nothing has ever dawned on God? He knew before the world began that His people would face hardship, so He gave us His Word. The Book of Ephesians is a survival manual—it equips believers to thrive in a world that hates the message of Jesus Christ.

Join us every Wednesday at 6:30 pm.
Class is taught by Pastor Nathan Miller in Room 207/209.

Has food become your source of comfort? After a hard day at work, or a long day with the kids, don’t you deserve that big piece of chocolate cake? Lysa TerKeurst used to think so, but that was before God showed her that what she really needed was more of Himself. In Made to Crave, Lysa won’t tell you what to eat or how much to exercise, rather she explores why we make unhealthy food choices. She’ll help you discover what it is you’re really seeking, and how that need can only be met in our faithful Heavenly Father. And when your cravings are satisfied with His love, a healthy body will follow.

Join us every Wednesday at 6:30 pm.

Class is led by Valerie Brulet and Rita Bragg. Class begins January 3rd in Room 203 at 6:30 pm.

But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. – Matthew 6:6

This study covers the topics of Spiritual Lukewarmness, Christian Accountability, Grasping Grace and the Gospel, Engaging in Spiritual Warfare, and Trusting God in Prayer.

Beginning on January 11th, join us every Thursday at 1:30 pm.
Class is led by Barbara Holt in Room 203.

Know with confidence how to resolve conflict in your important relationships. Find peace in your most difficult relationships as you learn to be honest but kind when offended. Identify what type of reactor you are and how to significantly improve your communication. Respond with no regrets by managing your tendencies to stuff, explode or react somewhere in between. Gain a deep sense of calm by responding to situations out of your control without acting out of control. (Book by Lysa TerKeurst)

Join us every Wednesday at 6:30 pm beginning March 7th.
Class is taught by Rita Bragg and Valerie Brulet in Room 203.

Discipleship Groups

Making disciples who make disciples is Jesus' plan to reach the world, but how do we do that? D-Groups are the most effective tool we've found to help people make disciples.
D-Groups provide a simple, replicable plan for disciple-making that leads to growth, accountability, and multiplication.

We have dozens of D-Groups happening at Hephzibah year-round. Interested in joining one? Click the link below to learn more.
