We believe that Discipleship best takes place in the context of a small group. It is through our small groups, such as connect groups and discipleship classes, that each of us will be able to grow in our faith and have a healthy connection to Christ and the Church.

Connect Groups

Our Connect Groups meet weekly and provide the best first point of connection to HBC. Becoming an active part of a Connect Group allows you to not only grow as a follower of Jesus Christ, but also learn the benefit of joining with other believers in fellowship, worship, discipleship, ministry, and outreach.

DISCIPLESHIP CLASSES

In addition to our weekly Connect Groups, we offer a variety of short term Bible studies. These short-term studies range from topical to Bible book studies, from parenting and finance, to apologetics and how to share your faith. These Discipleship classes are held at various times throughout the week to fit into your schedule and are designed to help you grow in your faith.

“The crooked punctuation mark at the end of a sentence speaks of curiosity, interest, and perhaps doubt. A question is an invitation to vulnerability, to intimacy. The Bible does not shy away from such an invite. Over and over we see the people of God asking questions of their Creator. We also see the God of the universe asking questions of His creation. The Quest is a challenge to accept the invitation. In this six-week excursion with Jesus, Beth Moore uses questions from Scripture to lead you into intimacy with the One who knows you best.”

Beginning November 1st, join us every Wednesday at 6:30 pm.
Class is led by Valerie Brulet in Room 203. Book is $10.

At the end of the day, God is less concerned with what we do for Him than who we are in Him. Few figures illustrate that truth better than Jonah. Focused on the prophet rather than his prophecy, the story of Jonah gives us a picture of a man on the run due to his own selfish desires. Instead of showing mercy to his enemies, he determined to keep God’s grace to himself rather than share it with those he considered undeserving. Can you relate? Over the course of 8 verse-by-verse sessions, pastor and author Eric Mason expands our vision to see that Jonah’s story is our own.

Beginning September 13th, join us every Wednesday at 6:30 pm. (Ends 11/1)
Class is led by Pastor Nathan Miller in Room 207/209.

This verse-by-verse study of the entire Bible is currently in the book of Judges and walks through how God heard Israel’s cry for mercy even through their immorality and disobedience.

Join us every Wednesday at 6:30 pm.
Class is led by Pastor Aaron Wallace in the Fellowship Hall.

Whether you are at the top of your world, or have just recently heard the worst news of your life, this study will level the playing field. It can be said that no other study by Tommy Nelson captures the essence of life, nor gives insight into how God taught Tommy to navigate through the toughest part of his journey.

Beginning on August 31st, join us every Thursday at 1:00 pm.
Class is led by Ron Holt in Room 203.

Proverbs 31 asks the question, “A worthy woman who can find?” Women like Ruth, Esther, Rahab, Mary, Sarah, and many more teach us valuable lessons in being Women of Worth. Join us for this 13 week inductive study of the women in the Bible who will show you how to Know God, Be Strong, and Take Action.

Join us every Wednesday at 6:30 pm.
Class is taught by Lou Anne Liles in Room 413. Class materials are $15.

This verse-by-verse study of Colossians will give you the chance to dig deep into the text and take a new perspective on a familiar book of the Bible. This study is great for all ages and anyone who desires a deeper understanding of scripture and of who Jesus is as sovereign King.

Join us every Sunday at 4:45 pm.
Class is taught by Tony Reggie in Room 207/209.

Has it ever dawned on you that nothing has ever dawned on God? He knew before the world began that His people would face hardship, so He gave us His Word. The Book of Ephesians is a survival manual—it equips believers to thrive in a world that hates the message of Jesus Christ.

Join us every Wednesday at 6:30 pm beginning November 8th.
Class is taught by Pastor Nathan Miller in Room 207/209.

D-Groups

Making disciples who make disciples is Jesus’ plan to reach the world, but how do we do that? D-Groups are the most effective tool we’ve found to help people make disciples. D-Groups provide a simple, replica table plan for disciple making that leads to growth, accountability, and multiplication.
